"Goop" body trim glue is real tough when dry and works fine on sidewall cracks. Clean out good with naptha and let dry before applying. If you don't mind clear glue in the joint it'll work.

Someone on the forum a while back said they used the black window sealant that seals windshields before replacing glass.

I have not tried this- and know no one who has- but I suspect that Devcon Flexane 80 Putty (Grainger 5A459) and/or Devcon Fast Cure Rubber Repair Urethane Putty ( Grainger 4TT48) would both work well. They are EXPENSIVE. I do know that a commercial tire shop near here repairs the forklift tires that are used to unload the trailers on the Truck/trains- BIG tires, sometimes get ripped open by spikes, etc. They use some sort of compound which I suspect is one of these- but they won't talk about it. If anyone tries it, please let us know the results.

shank,

Do what Bigdog recommends. Miller has a tire paint product that really works well. Used it on a '44 B with old tires and it made them look real good.

Check with Miller Tire. I believe they have what you are looking for.
