I was just given a couple of older homelite chainsaws. I think XL 125's. I am wondering if anyone knows what the settings on the high and low speed idle should be set at.

Thanks
Rob

The Initial settings, seat both needles(but very lightly so you won't deform tapers on end of needles), then counterclockwise one full turn for each. This should let it start, once it starts, hit the trottle. if it dies or hesitates, then open the low needle until it will accellerate from idle to wide open without hesitation. once you got that right, go to wide open throttle and adj. hi speed needle to max rpm, then open needle a little more to lower the rpm 15-20%.
don't run wide open/max rpm very long, it will run too lean and you might overheat it.

These adj. will work good as long as motor is in good shape. hope this helps. Ned
