Bought a generic garage door opener control called "Clicker". It can be programmed to open two differnet openers. It has instructions for my Stanley opener, but supposedly will not work with Genie Intellacode opener I have on the door for the other pole barn. It has two dip sitches in it one for brand and one for code setup. Has anyone ever messed with a controller like this and got it to work with a Genie Intellacode? What's so uinique about the Genie? Haven't tried it yet but I plan to do some experamiting to see if I can get it to work with this setup, unless I get a positive response one way or the other?\

Thanks..
Bill

From the name "intellacode" I assume that is a rolling code, i.e. it changes codes everytime it is used. Apparently your Clicker doesn't have the rolling code feature.

OK, I have the Genie with that "rolling code" feature. I have two remote controls in the cars as well as a wireless combination unit. I've wondered how these things work, so's the "rolling code" works. How does the receiver, which is looking for a digital code know which remote is transmitting, and respond to it, when it is looking for a new code each time?

Darned if I know. I merely suggested a possibility as to why the thing doesn't work, someone else will have to provide the details.

the "clicker" doesn't have the capability to operate a genie intellicode operator. the software inside it doesn't support the protocol needed to work.
