Does anyone have experience with the Briggs & Stratton 2800 PSI x 2.5 GPM Gas Pressure Washer that TSC currently has for sale for $479? Is this a decent unit/price for a washer for general farm use? I've read on the forum that pump and engine quality are the things to look for. Anyone know anything about the pump on this one:

As much as you have to start and stop these things,I woulden't have anything but a Honda engine. Keep looking I found mine at about $400....

Why all the Briggs bashing? I have used Briggs engines nearly exclusively for over 40 years. Never had a bad one. Only had one that got hard to start. It was my fault. I let the gas get gummy. That was when I learned about fuel stabilizer! I bought a cheap pressure washer at Home Depot with a 6 horse Briggs Intek. I replaced the plastic pump with an AR and it kicks some serious butt cleaning stuff. Starts first pull every time. I have a total of 13 Briggs engines on equipment that I currently own. I also have one Tecumseh, one Clinton and one Wisconsin. Hondas are overpriced, and when they break, and they will, stand by when you get the bill!! My two cents...P

i have not found anything that TSC has to be much of a good deal. seems like almost everything they have is second rate quality. especially be wary of their 3 pt. farm implements. let the buyer beware.

My TSC has the same implements that Farm & Fleet had, maybe you didn't like those either??? Just like most of the low end stuff made today, you have to pick through it pretty good!! My take on TSC is, i liked F&F a lot better!! Robert

we don't have a farm and fleet here in se texas so i can't compare quality with them. i do believe you are right about the "low end" quality from them type of stores. i found that the big name brand items are built a lot better and i would rather spend a little more to get a quality made implement that i can get service/parts for in the future. the TSC has some oddball brands that i doubt will be easy to repair or find parts for years from now.

Stephen, Several years ago I bought a unit pretty much like this one and it was nothing but trouble. The engine never ran right and the pump didn't didn't work right or last long, maybe a year of light use. I have since sworn off B&S engines. I bought an electric unit and used it for several years and it did OK for most small jobs. Last summer I bought a 3500 psi unit with a Honda engine and I love it. It starts on 1 pull and the pump is a hoss. I have learned (several times) that sometimes the cheapest tools to buy are not always the cheapest to use.
