I just resurrected a junked Carolina 30 ton hydraulic press.

Now I need to get a set of bed plates and arbor plates for it. Any sources out there? I searched McMaster-Carr and didn't find anything.

I think Harbor Freight has them pretty reasonable and if you order more than $50 you only pay $4.95 for handling, no shipping. Russ

Hi F14,

Northern Tools has a set in there catlog but expensive. I think you could get a local plate shop to cut them cheaper and the shipping wouldn't be a killer.

I use a bunch of 3/4"x3" cut to about 1 foot long with some 3/4"x 2" cut to about 1 foot long and stack to get what I need.I also have some short sections of very heavy 4"x4" I beam that works wonders when bending material. If you have a particular need just flame cut and weld or machine. Sockets and bearing seperators help too but I recommend the impact sockets and especially the kind with a good guarentee.

I just used some 6" cold rolled, 1 1/4" thick, and welded some 1/2" X 2" flatbar on the ends to let the pressplates slide along the bed.
