Im looking at the Tip Tools 780 blast cabinet and wondered if anybody has first hand experience with this model. The top load looks more versatile than the side load (plus its cheaper) so thats the one Im leaning toward. Any thoughts on pros and cons would be appreciated. Is the carbide nozzle upgrade the way to go?

I was going to Hershey this year and planned on buying the bb-731 bench buddy for $199. I couldn't go at the last minute. Would the 780 be worth half again as much?
I bought a 70 lb. pressure blaster from TIP about 15 years ago and couldn't be happier. The salesgirl on the phone walked me through customizing the package(longer supply and delivery hoses, more replacement bits, etc.) and was great.

I have the exact cabinet that you are looking at. It works great! I have been able to blast many large parts in it. I would get the foot pedal as extended blasting is hard on the hand. At least for an old guy. Good luck.

Depends on how much "blastin'" you'll be doing. Carbide is certainly the best/least expensive in the long run - it's what I use. Steel probably not worth it unless you only use it occasionaly. Cerramic is a good comprimise. Of course, that all depends upon what abrasive you'll be using. I'd go with the one that comes with your kit & see how long it lasts. TIP is fairly fast to ship so you can always order replacements.

Like most tools - no matter what you buy there will come a time that you'll wish it was bigger, more powerful. Thus - get the biggest & best you can fit into your budget.

Going with TP puts you one step ahead. Do talk with their "experts" and you'll never be sorry!Your air supply is the most CRITICAL aspect & they can advise you!

ANDY, I HAVE THE MODEL 952 OR 960 NOT SURE WHICH ONE.I HAVE HAD IT SEVERAL YEARS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. DEFINITELY GET THE CARBIDE NOZZLE IT IS WELL WORTH THE EXTRA COST. DEPENDING ON YOUR AIR SUPPLY SYSTEM CONSIDER USING A SURGE TANK AT THE CABINET FOR THE BEST PERFORMANCE.BEEN THERE DONE THAT.
