I've got a walker series D, 1.25 ton floor jack that won't raise more than 3-4 inches. I filled it with fluid in the fall and it worker 2 months ago, any thoughts?

Is this a jack worth rebuilding, seems real sturdy and better built than some newer stuff.

Anyone seen or know of a vise made by "Parker Vise Division, Union Manufacturing New Britian, CT" I guess this is when Parker was purchased or merged with Union. Anyway, I have a chance to pick up a 4 inch bench vise made by them.

Thanks,

Tom

I just fixed my Lincoln Jack. Guys are going to tell you to forgetaboutit and buy the China throw aways.
I used google.com to search floor jack repair and found a place with down loadable parts lists and drawings. - they also sold common used repair kits. There is a lot of stuff out there for Linclon, Warner, NAPA. On the other hand, Sam's Club has a nice China jack for $59.00, Not bad when you figure a repair kit is about $25 plus S&H.

I have 3 Parker vises. Really well made. Sold for industrial use mainly. Quite a few in my area.

I have a couple of jaws that you could copy, pretty straight forward, what size are the jaws you need? How old is the vise?

The jaws I have are off of a Parker vise labeled "Parker Vise Division, Union Manufacturing, New Britian, CT"

Walker is a good jack. Rebuild if you can get parts.
I have an old (1977) identification/repair manual for bottle and floor jacks. The fellow sold replacement parts and tools for jack repair business. I don't know if the company is still around. Try this address: Hydraulic Parts Supply, Box 4157, Brownsville, Texas 78520
You might also try searching the net for parts.
