I have found that "goop" adhesive is a perfect
crack filler for tires that do not have a fiber
torn injury.

This stuff is sold at auto supply centers for gluing decorative trim and rubber sealing strips around doors. I clean the crack out with naptha
although a short sand blast would probably make a rougher bond surface.

A couple of months ago, I saw some strange looking stuff on a neighbors steel toed boots. He told me it was "SHOE GOO", sold in the sporting goods section of Wal Mart. He had repaired a hole worn thrugh to the steel on an otherwise goodpaid of boots. I bought some and repaired the sole on my spare work shoes, cracked all of the way across to the insole. I've worn them from time to time since then and they are still holding up. Probably the same as the "goop" and it would probably repair cracks in tires. Put scotch tape over it to form it until it dries completely.

I've been using windshield gasket repair sealer. It drys about like the tire color and feel. I'll bet the goop is cheaper though, thanks.

You won't get much bang out of a 12psi or so rear tractor tire when it goes. We aren't talking truck or heavy equipment tires at high pressure. Jack

I'm not a yuppie farmer. I've got to get the most service from expensive tractor tires I can. If the cords or bead are damaged and/or the cleats are worn down I can then justify the expense of new ones. I'll gladly stop my practice if you'll help my buy new tires.

Good for you, Ray. I subscribe to your line of thinking. You ought to see the tires on my VAC and M. The VAC especially looks like it wouldn't take much for you to be able to see the air right through those huge cracks ";^) All kinds of tread left but I'm afraid I'll never get to use it.
