This is my fist time to this forum so I will try to keep this short. I didn't seem to have any luck posting earlier, Anyway. I have a V4hd Wisconsin Engine and it over heats on the right hand side of the motor and burns the Aluminum head, then the head gasket. It gets so hot that it melted the sparkplug caps. I have checked the valves and they appear to be not stuck. I would like to check the timing but dont have that proceedure explained to me yet. If anyone can help me on info around this that would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance Tom C in VT

Remove as much tin as is necessary to make sure all the cooling fins in the block/Head are clean. Also make sure the distributor advance weights are not stuck. With advance weights stuck in the advanced position,I have seen these engines blow head gaskets or even split cylinder heads. The timing marks are on the top of the fan housing and 1 fan blade. remove the air inlet screen to view the marks.
