Hi Rod, I don't know what the cost of that unit is but it seems rather cumbersome to have it tethered to those heavy batteries. There are small, self contained, rechargeable wire fed units that will weld 6.5' of 1/4" carbon steel on a charge. They are very light weight and portable welders. About the size of a briefcase.

I started a small company last summer that sells them. We have them in everything from steel mills to state highway garages and they are working out very well. I don't have the manual in front of me but I beleive they weigh 32#.

I work at a farm store that sold those a few years ago. I never heard a complaint on them. My brother bought one and it's the only MIG he owns. Use 2 deep cycle batteries to run it. We're not selling them anymore, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the product. Hope this helps.
