i am in need of stones for a realy old ammco hone, i chiped the stones on the crank of one of my tractors and need to replace before i give it back to my friend. dont know what modle so i have turned to ytmag. the hone is just over 14 1/2inch long, the distance from the outside of the stones is just over 4 inch the stones are 4 inch long 7/16ths inch across and 1/4 inch thick. the hone its self has two parts a drive shaft that is disconectable. and the main body is rectangular with a 3/8ths groove cut into each of the four sides in the grooves is screwed in two peaces of spring steel flat bar stock that ataches to the stones i hope that some one can tell me what i have and maybe where to get stones from.

Try Goodson in Winona Mn. 1-800-533-8010. They have a lot of engine machine tool supplies and parts. Good luck.

Try this site.

Link

I was looking for some for an Ammco cylinder hone, and If I remember right, NAPA was what they told me at Ammco.

I would also try one of the part stores like Advance Autoparts.

I think NAPA stones fit Ammco hones. Was long time ago but worth a call.

Just do a search for Ammco. I see they are still in business under another name.

Hi Steven,

Have you looked at cylinder stones? That sounds about correct for the size. Depends on the grit.
