That sounds cheap. Most can be fixed. They did have wet or dry models, and some only had one grinding stone, for grinding the valve's face. I looked at a very old one, and contacted sioux, and they said parts weren't available for them any more. I have most of my experience on Sioux valve grinders, the ways would wear out, and cause the valves to chatter, like a corrugated face. You can check that by shaking the assembly that slides back and forth, and if you feel movement other than the sliding the ways are bad, and will either have to be turned over, if they haven't already, or replaced. In the shop they had to be turned over after about a year, and replaced after another year, then turned over after another year, then after another year we got a new grinder, and did it again. I could jhust stand there grinding and watch out the windows, or tell jokes, and know by the sound that the valves were done. If you don't use it for hours at a time day after day, but only a few times a month or so, it should never wear out.
