Mike--

Mostly green, with black, red and white trim dividing the green into panels. Wheels and tongue were red with white pinstriping.

My great-grandfather, William Ebbert, along with a Dr. Hickman, started the The Hickman-Ebbert Co. in Owensboro, KY. The wagon was called The Ebbert. William Ebbert died in 1922. When he sold the company, the name was changed to The Owensboro Wagon Co.

I have one of their original lithographed metal signs. There is a sign just like it in a restaurant in Jackson, TN. The references to "The Ebbert" and "The Hickman Ebbert Co." are very artfully covered over with "The Owensboro Wagon Co."

I'll try to photograph my sign (it's hanging in the kitchen by the breakfast table) and scan it in the near future. I'll then send you a copy so you can use it for reference should you want to restore your wagon.

Good luck,

Jerry Kirkpatrick (JK_TN)

My Aunt saw a pcture of the Hickman - Ebbert wagon, and was wondering if we were related to The Ebbert mentioned. Our Branch seems to be mostly Pa., but was wondering if you know if William my be connected . Earliest I have is Henry Ebbert b.1802. Could be Pa. or Maryland.
