I would like my husband to stamp our concrete when he pours it this spring. I'm finding it hard to find do-it-yourself topics on this subject. Does anyone have tips or ideas? My husband is a carpenter by trade and there is little he can't do (he built our entire house after work and on the weekends for 1 1/2 years), he did pour our basement slab and our garage slab, he does have knowledge on concrete so I figured he could just "stamp it"!

Hi Beth,

I was going to go that route but decided not to because I've never done that before and its a one time deal before the concrete hardens. (I too built my own house) In my opinion, it's best to watch someone do it once or have a little experience with it. I went with pavers instead. They have an impregnated layer on top that will outlast concrete. Anyway, here are some links that I saved. Hope they help.

Try www.diynet.com

Pretty good site w/lots of information about everything. I was playing with it the other day and found a pretty good section on finishing concrete.
