Old Homelite chainsaw help/info needed

I have been given a Homelite chainsaw that is blue & labled XL Super Auto (or possibly Automatic). I don't really need it (I have a small Sears/Poulan? that meets my needs) but I have a hard time letting anything with an old motor get thrown away & this thing seems to have decent compression. It is missing the carb & the cover for the compartment where the carb goes (air cleaner goes there, maybe?). I took a trip to my local scrap yard today with a friend, & found 4 pieces of similar saws. One was an XL, one maybe an XL-1? Other 2 unlabled. Lots of other Homelights (XL400, XL700, 550) too, if they have the same parts.

I guess my main questions are:
1. What carb does a Super XL Auto use?
2. What else uses the same carb, or similar engough that it would work?
3. What is the cover, and is it possible to get one? What other models have the same cover?
4. Anything else (besides spark) to check before trying this thing?

Obviously, I don't want to sink any real money into this thing, but I wouldn't mind having it if the price was right. Any help or ideas appreciated.

I Have A Homelite 150 automatic That has not run in a while. I need Infomation on the starting point adjustments on the carb.For the high & low & differential screws.

Only thing I can add to what John said, is I have the red model of the same saw. I had to take the carb off today and clean it. I let it sit too long and it gummed up. A little cleaning and it runs good again. Like John said it has a Tillotson. And the cover is plastic. I took some pictures if you want them.

The Super XL may have been the most-popular, longest running chainsaws model ever made. Parts are all over the place.

1. Carb is a Tillotson HL
2. Lots of other Homelites based on this saw. I don't know the models, but check the carb numbers if you find a similar saw.
3. Covers are easy to get parts. Scrap yards, chainsaw shops, anybody.
4. Take off the muffler and look at the piston. Make sure there's isn't any scoring.

The saw's worth about $25 in lousy shape all the way to around $100 if it's like new. The blue color means it's an older ('60s, probably) one.

Post this question on Arboristsite.com. All the saw guys hand out there.

What kind of chainsaws does this scrap yard have? I'd be interested in buyer certain models, parts or working. No places like that around here.
