Propane heaters are nice. But before I invested any money in one I'd consider propane, at least here in the northeast is about 30 cents more per gallon than #1 fuel oil/kereo & the BTU content is 91,500 btu per gallon for propane versus 136,000 btu per gallon for the kero. Propane is just a little better than electric heat cost wise..... If I were to buy a shop heater I'd go kero/much more BTU fer the buck.

Best bet would be get Mod No. amd E-mail coleman.
Maybe look at their web site and see if there is one like the one you have. Maybe get a parts/operators manual also.

I don't believe this one has a pilot light. It is the style that mounts on the side of a 20 lb tank. There is just a burner and the gas goes from a nozzle on the valve and is directed into the burner by a metal tube. It just doesn't want to light.. I haver never had one of these before so if you could explain how to light it, i might be doing it wrong.

This is normal
Turn on gas supply, set to pilot
Start button ignites pilot with spark-
Pilot warms thermocouple-
Thermocouple opens main gas valve when warm-
Gas flows to main burner and is ignited by pilot.

At what point does yours fail? What type/size of fuel tank are you using?Model No of heater.
