two choices:

1) get em in the attic over the Garage. Will dry in a few (sunny) months.

2) stack on the sunny side of the house and put clear plastic over army tent style. Leave the ends open for air flow! Will dry in a few months.

This one should work, when you get to the website do a search for air drying lumber.

I give up. Go to www.fpl.fs.fed.us and do a search for gtr (general technical report) 117.

The USDA has a site about air drying lumber, it is very informative. I will try to post a link.

put them inside a green house (kinda solar kiln) some saw mills actually use solar kilns and charge you more for the enviromentaly freindly wood. if your in a hurry there are places that will kiln dry them for you.

If you can stack them indoors, spacers like 1/2inch thick. Also, checker paint on the ends to reduce splitting. Air dry, about a yr.

best way i know if you don,t have klin is to stack them in a pile an as your stacking them put strips between each roll that,s how we do it at the mill with all wood it takes a long time to dry but with the air goin through it will dry it , should plan ahead do it now for next year like

I could be a smart azz and say set them beside the stove, but I won't. How much do you have to dry? Got any buildings around? Got any tarps?" You live in London or Nome? A little more info wouldn't hurt. L8R....Fred OH
