Hi Everybody. Does anyone know of a good forum that can give me some help with a problem I'm having with a Ford Tempo? I did a Google search and couldn't find anything. It would be great to find a forum that would give great information like you guys give! Thanks!

What kinda problems are you having with a Tempo? I might be able to help you with it , either post it here, or email me, I work on them all of the time, along with Escorts and Rangers. I have manuals on all three. John

Hi,
I was just desperately searching for some info on my girlfriends car. 87 Escort, FI, 1.8L. It has a condition where it will start up and run/idle smoothly for about 5 minutes then a bluish-grey exhaust will appear and 30 seconds later it quits. Then it won't start again for quite a while. When it does, the same thing happens.
Any thoughts?

The '55 Ford I had was THE BEST car I ever had.... Ofcourse it had a '59 352 Police Interseptor engine, AND a 3-speed W/Overdrive....!!!! Got over 24 MPG, too..!! ( won an Economy run with it)...at over 47 ton miles per gallon...even beat the Volkswagons...!!

Yes....!!!

I used to run the speedometer out of numbers, then gage the speed by how much the hood was bowed up..!!! When you could easily fit your hand under the hood--between the fender and the hood, it was just at a nice "cruise"..!! Emerson Fitapaldi tried to keep up w/me once--in his white Cadillac....Not A Chance.!! Wanted me to go to Daytona to try out his Cobras...I was stupid and was in the Army..just trying to get to Ft Knox, to make revely....!!!! Didn't have a clue that I might have been able to do it.!! MAN, did that old Ford handle GOOD....!!! 4 wheel-drifts in every curve, right thru Cincinnati...!!!! Never changing a lane..!!

The '84 Tempo and the '55 Ford 6 cyl. were the two worst cars I ever had out of the 43 vehicles (company & owned) that I've had in my lifetime. The '91 Toyota pickup I still have is the best vehicle we've ever had, but we also like our '96 Grand Marquis.

I'll second the Tempo. 10 times worse than the Pinto!
