I've got a 1972 Ski-Doo 335 snowmobile that I got for free. It originally called for 20:1 mix. Since I got the sled for free I thought it was a good place to try out Amsoil.
I mixed up a gallon of Amsoil at 60:1 and ran the stink out of the sled. After retuning the carb MUCH leaner to get it to run right it was great!
Finally I accidentally ran out of gas (bad planning only having 1 gallon) so I dumped in what I had left of 50:1 mix with my usual Spectra-Sno. That also ran just fine, and as I said before I ran the stink out of it. I figured that it'd be more likely to fail if I ran it hard.
This is a 1 cyl 335cc sled. The motor is of totally unknown condition, I recently rebuilt the carb. It ran LOUSY and fouled plugs on 20:1 with a big flat spot mid throttle. With the other mixes it runs great, feels like it has more power doesn't feel hot, and doesn't smoke as much.

As a side note, the Amsoil oil smells awful, not like oil at all, and the exhaust does take on a slightly different odor.

I bought an IT 200 back in 84 and the dealership said if I ran what the factory recommened on premix 24:1 then I should also buy a grass sack full of spark plugs.

I have never burned up a two stroke and the rule of thumb I go by is a faint haze of smoke at WOT.

If its smoking then it isn't to lean or to hot but if performance is what you are looking for then you want a faint haze and then try tuning the exhaust.

P.S. Its ok if it smokes and drinks as long as it doesn't start chewing.
