My brother-in-law has a small tool supply company and when I was in his shop the other day I noticed packages of these 2-piece Disc-Lock lockwashers. You use a pair of them as one lockwasher and then they tighten up against each other when you torque down the bolt or nut. They have a series of raised tapered surfaces along the washers that work against each other when the nut tries to loosen off. He says he's never sold any of them because people just won't be bothered with a 2-piece system. Has anyone out there ever used them and how do they work compared to regular lockwashers?

I have seen & used them!! They work quite well. You woll probly break the bolt befor you reverse the washer. The two piece thing is a hassle when working up side down or in tight places & found they just weren't worth the couplr extra pennies. When I need to macke sure a nut don't come off I use a lock washer Lock tite & sometimes a lock nut on it. JMHO
