Anyone know the difference between the Lincoln Pro Mig 135 and the Lincoln SP-135 Plus. I'm looking to buy one of the two. The Pro Mig is $427.00 at Lowe's and the Sp-135 Plus is $529.00 at the local Praxair. I don't mind the extra $100.00 for the SP-135 but I wish I knew what I would be getting for the extra $100.00. Any help???

Rick get the sp-135 plus. Its a great little welder. With .023 stainless wire, and the right gas the little lincoln will spray arc.Thats pretty impressive performance.I just traded my little miller 130xp in on a sp-175 plus its a great little welder also.Spend the extra at the welding store, because you will get support if needed. That could make up the difference even if you bought a 135 tapped machine from them.they are different machines between the lowes.Thats what I heard.
Anyway buy the sp because lincoln has really got that machine dialed in.

I have have a few welding machince at this point, and let me tell you the lincoln sp have a super nice arc.I have owned two miller 130,and the lincoln is the best of the lot.The miller 130 xp is lot nicer welder than the new miller 135 by far,as far as the welding arc.

Her is my welder list, lincoln 305G welding generator, lincoln sp 175 plus,MK products mk 2000A pulse mig inverter with a LN9 feeder, esab spool gun and control,Thermalarc prowave 300 gtsw ac/dc inverter welder.

So what does the sp 135 plus have in common with my welders? I will tell you-great welding arc.So spend a little more and get a lot more.look at it this way, if you keep it three years how much per day is the difference in cost per day.Now if you sell it in three years the sp-135 plus will always hold its value better than the lowes or home depot model. My 2 cents.

Rick, shop around a bit more. I bought my Linconln about a month ago for 350 dollars. It was a floor model (originally 375.00 dollars). Anyway to answer your question, I don't know about the Lincoln SP-135 Plus, but I am really happy with my Pro-Mig. Check the Lincoln Electric web site, it is pretty informative. In the same class of welders is the Hobart Handler - it isn't a bad machine and is usually pretty competive in price. Good Luck!

The differenece between the plus and Pro Mig, is in the volatge control. The Plus offers infinate variable control where the Pro has 4 level selections when it comes to the voltage
Hope This Helps
