I just looked at a 2 horse/2 stage/60 gallon Quincy compressor. It is a 1972 or 73 model but has been maintained VERY well. It runs and looks like new. Anyone know what this thing is worth?

I am not qualified to give advice on specifics concerning used equipment prices, but I would like to offer my two cents worth. ANY Quincy compressor is worth considering, regardless of the price, IMHO. I have a friend who bought a used, 10 horsepower, two stage, 240 gallon Quincy from a drug dealer for $200!! Obviously, the above-mentioned drug dealer got it utilizing the old "five finger discount", but my friend got the buy of a lifetime. I recently aquired a huge single stage Quincy, got a used 240 gallon tank, new ten horsepower motor, and by the time I got done with magnetic starters and other various widgets to make it work, I had right at $3000 in it, but it is worth every penny and more!! Mine puts out 40 cfm at 640 rpm, runs quietly, and is pressure lubed. It will last a lifetime the way I use it. New ones like it run better than $8000, or so I have been told. All Quincy compressors are oil lubed and the larger ones are pressure lubed, some with oil filters. People who buy cheap compressors, i.e. Campbell-Hausfeld, imported Ingersols, and the like, are wasting their time. Don't walk, RUN, and get your hands on that Quincy!! You will never regret spending a little more and getting a real comressor. Good luck and enjoy the Quincy..... ..P

All of the Quincy units that I have worked on (wired and/or piped up) were way better than any thing else I have seen.
