I plan to put a Class IV frame-mount receiver hitch on my 89 Chevy K3500, Big Ugly. Any input on brands/prices/sources?

I'm seeing 6000 pound Class IV's at about $140 and 10,000 pound Class IV's at $180. Don't often haul 10,000, but I'm a big believer in overbuilding things...

Three letters DMI. They can handle anything. We've had one for years after we pulled the factory bumper off.

On my previous trucks I had the class IV reciever hitches. For the 1000 pound togue weight they wanted you to use the weight equalizer bars. I HATE those@#%^%&* BARS!!!!! ! My pick-ups were 1 tons & I really didn't need the weight distributing but the manufacturer wanted you to use them so you did not peel the hitch off the frame. For around $240 you can get a STAINLESS STEEL drop hitch rear bumper rated at 1000 pound tongue with no #$%^** weight bars/10,000gvw from JC Whitney or Summit Racing. They look GOOOD & they don't rust. My Dodge bumper was only a couple years old & was rusting through. And you don't need the #@$%%^& weight distrubuting bars.... My $.02 on the idea.....

I live in central Missouri and I picked up a Class IV 10,000 lb. receiver hitch at Orscheln's Farm and Home store for right at $100 on sale..... .I think they are usually around $120. I found it to be a very sturdy hitch and mounted well to my '97 F350.....and significantly less expensive than the fancy named brand hitches. Just my 0.02..... .....

I have a Class V Hidden Hitch on my 2000 K3500.
Seems very well built, think I paid $210 and
self-installed. Just as it's name implies, you
can't see much once installed. It has a mounting
bracket for the wiring plug which the Drawtite
did not have. Hidden Hitch International in
Huntsville, Ontario, Canada.

Know where class IV hitch off 96 Dodge never used. If interested, thought maybe you could make it fit for cheaper net cost.
