Hitachi nailer question

Hi, I bought this nail gun used, it's a model nv65ah siding nailer. It seems to "stick" when I shoot it, like it shoots the nail in, then a second or 2 later it sort of pops (sounds like it's shooting another nail, but it doesn't shoot one), sometimes the pin that drives the nail remains in the down position and if I unhook the air, it will retract. I put a few drops of lubricant in the air inlet, but I'm afraid to over-oil it. Anybody got any idea what's wrong with this or how to fix it, or where to look for info on how these work? I'm thinking that maybe it has a cycle where it shoots the nail and then retracts the pin, and the pin is sticking down and retracting late - maybe the second pop I'm hearing is the completion of the cycle with the retraction of the pin, but it's a pretty loud pop...

These nail guns are pretty simply constructed. Take the head off and give it a look, chances are you have a broken O-ring or you need some soft parts for your gun. If you are near a mid sized city you can probably get some parts for it from a nail/tool supplier or your local lumberyard should be able to steer you in the right direction.
