I am new to this, so not sure if I am doing it correctly.

I am am investigating for my father-in-law the possibility of getting a part/parts for his rotary tiller which was made by Gilson Brothers. I have this information and wonder if anyone could help me as far as where to go from here.

He has a rotary tiller, model #Gil-1580E and needs part #18825 (possibly i8825, but I think it is a "1" (seals & felts).

Thanks to anyone who might give me some feedback, pos or neg.

If it is a seal that you are looking for take the number on the outside of the seal, or better yet the seal itself to an industrial bearings and/or seal distributor. They can probabaly match it and it will probably be less expensive than a dealers part. We have found seals and bearings from the supplier below. They have a lot of branches around.

Good Luck

Two ideas:

1. Do a web search with your favorite search engine for Gilson (or Gilson Tillers). That might hit either some dealers or a web site dedicated to their equipment. I know their lawn tractors are quite popular here in the Northeast.

2. Take that seal number to your local NAPA store, and the seal if you can. There's a good chance they can cross it to a NAPA part.

I have a manual for a front tine tiller model number 857-41802. I have two of these tillers and need a lower gear for one of the units. It is a brass gear with the letter D stamped on it but has no number that I can see. If anyone can help I would be most appreciative...
