How would i run the pick up lines to a 275 gallon oil tank buried outside of a residence for home heating oil i plan to run the lines in 3/8 copper tubing but how would i run the lines in to the tank is there a seperate pick up assembly i can purchase that has these?

Hi Digger,

Usually one of the two lines is a suction line and the other is a return line. There is a special fitting that threads into an opening in the tank and permits both 3/8 od cu tubes to pass through it and seal the penetration at the same time. The tubes should be at different lengths with the suction line nearest the bottom and the return line higher up...I forget by how much, but think about 6-12 inches would be satisfactory to avoid stirring up bottom deposits. Any plumbing supply place should be able to set you up with the correct fitting,
