I am looking into heating my fathers work shop. I am planing on running some hot-water baseboard we removed from a house that was being torn down and feeding it from a furnace in my shop which is an addition to his building. I would also like to use a waste-oil heater to be able to get rid of the oil we get from oil changes. Has anyone tried one of the units that Northern Hydraulic sells? I was wondering how reliable they are and if they run quiet. Thanks for any information anyone can send, Eric Perry.

A couple years ago I installed an Econo-Burn waste oil heater. It is 180,000btu. It burns about 1.3 gal of oil an hour. I am pleased with it. It has been reliable. It needs cleaned out about every 600-700 hours. Econo-Burn has been around a while. I almost got burned by a company in the northwest, but don't recall who it was now. Ask the manufacturer for some references of users in your area.

Bruce, Thanks for the reply. I'll look into the 150000 BTU unit. That is the same size as the one in the Northern Hydraulic catalog.
Thanks for the info, Eric.

Are you sure that is the right address? Maybe I missed it but I never saw anything related to a heater.
