A friend is loaning me his little TIG welder to play with and I want to use it to weld some 4130 1/2" .058 wall tubing. I've never used one of these machines before, only used a stick welder or a torch.

What kind of wire do I need to use to weld 4130 steel? As I said, it's fairly small, 1/2" tubing with a wall thickness of .058.

Yes, I'll practice a lot before I have to do the real thing!

Thanks,
Kerry
