Hi all I have this recurring problem with my Poulan 325 Pro chainsaw the oiler is driven by a spiral gear on the crank shaft and a plastic cog on a short rod now I replaced the whole set up cost was 50.00 and it only lasted a few days and is doing same again I took it apart and it has marks on the spiral gear and has chewed the plastic gear up. Any ideas on a fix I really should look at new saws any recomendations stihl, husky, echo, jonsered or solo??? about 55 ot 70 cc's and up to 20 in bar
thanks rod

A lot of people have had good luck with Stihl saws and I'm sorry to say I don't share that experience. I had one that I kept only for a year and sold it. A very disappointing saw. Now I have a Husqvarna and it is an excellent saw. I would highly recommend them.

I don't know if it has a chain-brake, but if not, I would retire it.

I've fixed a lot of stihl oilers but they always stayed fixed. something is seriously wrong and getting rid of it is probably the cheapest way out.

Hi Rod Stihl and Husky are what the pros use for good reason. I have two Stihls and they are great saws. Huskys are nice but I think they are a little pricey.

I'm not familiar with that particular model.
