I have a post auger that Dad used when I was a kid. My brother and I even used it on the ranch.

The brand name on it is "SPEEDIGGER". It mounts on the front of the tractor and runs off of the belt pulley. There is a platform above the hood of the tractor that the operator stood on and had a handwheel that cranked the auger up and down. It required one person to operate the auger and one to operate the tractor.

I am wondering if anyone has heard of these before and possibly where they were made.

Dan

Yes, the Piper "Speedigger" was made by the R.J. Piper Manufacturing Co. in Princeton, Illinois.
