I'm considering buying a power pruner and would like to know how those of you that own them like yours. Which brands and general price range did you find best. I have used chain saws for years so my thinking is to go Husky or Sthil. However, I see a lot of Echo ads and some other brands I don't know. I don't want junk, but it will only be used a few times a year, nothing commercial. Thanks in advance.

I bought a Stihl because they offer the only model that I could find with extendable pole- very expensive, but cheaper than setting broken leg from falls off ladder. So far, I am very pleased with it. Husqvarna is cutting out their smaller dealers- a huge mistake in my opinion, so parts and service for Husky will be harder to find in the future. Echo makes good stuff, but their rubber fuel lines do not last very long and they do not make replacement parts available for as long as do some other manufacturers. Had problems finding fuel fittings for my Echo (Kioritz) engine string trimmer. Found another brand part that would substitute.

I just bought a Echo PPF-210. It's the base model echo. Have been very pleased with it so far. It only has a 10" bar, 8' handle. But on the flip side it is lite enough for the wife to use, and I can spend more time on the tractor...
