What is the simplest way to cut a weld with a cutting torchor what ever. On a haybaler it has some metal panels that are rusted out and I wanted to cut them out and then cut a part and weld it back in place instead of the bondo repair. The metal is 1/4 inch thick (not sheet metal) or would it be better to grind out the welds or do they make a special tip to put on the torch for this? Thanks

A die grinder and cutting disk would work but might take a while if it is welded all the way around the seams.

Hi Tom, If you have a Victor torch you can get a scarfing tip for what you propose. Seems like I`ve got one for a Harris torch too, but I can`t remember right now. Russ
