I have a model 321 air compressor cast iron 2 stage with 80 gal tank. I was told the compressor is a Kellog compressor. The tank sprung a leak after twenty years. Everything still works well. Where do you buy tanks? Is it worth buying a used one?

Do not buy a used tank! Tanks can explode due to rust and age. You never know how much rust might be inside of that thing. Make sure you buy an ASME rated tank.

I looked for a reasonably priced one for a while and the best source I found so far is NorthStar. They are somehow affiliated with Northern, they build power washers, compressors, etc. In their catalog, they list an 80 gallon ASME vertical tank for $301.82 plus shipping. A word of caution, however, is this particular tank does not have a pump and motor mounting plate included. It comes with two standards that you can adapt your existing mounting plate to. Their number is 1-800-270-0810 if interested and that particular part number is PD35407.

Good luck.

I would'nt waste my money on a used tank, most, like yours are neglected and corroded inside. A internet search will locate many firms that fabricate tanks. One close to me is Bruner Engineering, Bedford, IN.
