I just bought a (used) Olympyk 245L deluxe chainsaw. After using it to fell several large locust trees, I feel that it is a terrific saw -- not light, but strong and cuts great. However, I can't find anything out about this saw. I have searched the 'net and it seems the compay has sold out at some time. Does anyone know about how old the saw might be? Do they have a good reputation? Any idea where I can get parts? Any information would be appreciated!

I am on my second olympic saw. There is a dealer in Sullivan Mo. However he vacations in warmer climates during the winter, and I have had some difficulty in finding someone who can order parts for me. I am currently waiting for an automatic oiler for my saw, so far it's been over a week, but i'm optimistic. These are very good saws, I've had no trouble from this saw in two years, even this oiler is caused by some bad oil. The main trouble is no one seems to want to deal in them.

Terry Try contacting your local Johndeere dealer as I have been told by mine that Johndeere has purchased this Italian company that makes Olympyk-Ole-mac chainsaws and are introducing them as the new Johndeere saws for 2001. Good Luck Dieseldog!

Terry,Olympyk is still in business. On the east coast they are distributed by Tilton Equipment who is also the e.coast source for Jonsered. Try Link or Link for the Olympyk site. They are high quality, Italian made saws. Too bad more people don`t know about them. Good Luck

Due to a death on my wifes side of the family, I just resived one olympyk 264f de luxe and one olympyk saw that is a bit smaller and the label is off so I'm not sure of the size, but the 264 is by far the best saw that I've ever had.
