I am wanting to buy myself a new sabre saw mainly to make accurate cuts through light steel an sometimes maybe wood and for general shop work I have a little black and decker but I am really wanting to buy a Porter Cable so I am just curious about your opinions on the who builds the best saws. Thanks.

My personal favorite is a Metabo. I use mine every day, electronic trigger and nice adjustable reciprocating feature, great little saw.

Yes Jonny B , I have a metabo sabre saw. It's a good little saw. I like mine. Still , it will not hold a candle to the Bosch.

Nicest one I've ever used was a Bosch. I also have a Porter Cable that's probably 45 years old and still running fine.

Doesn't cut as nice as that Bosch though.

I bought a Bosch barrel grip at the home Depot. It is an excellent saw. I think I paid around 150.00.

My father in law bought me a Porter Cable Tiger Saw for Christmas two years ago. I hadn't been looking for one and wondered what I'd use it for. Now I wonder what I did without it. I absolutely LOVE my porter cable. I've put in one exterior and one interior door on the house, fixed my snowmobile trailer, completely redid my bathroom, demolished an old deck, etc etc and I'm always using the thing. I've gone through most materials with it and never had problems with power or overheating. Super saw and super versatile. Go for it.

Bosch and Milwaukee are top-tier. DeWalt, Makita, and Porter-Cable are all very good brands. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them.

"BOSH" has made the best for years. In resent years , other brands have come out with nice quality saber saws. But Bosh is still the best as far as I'm concerned. Don't take my word for it. Go check them out.

I don't know anything about Bosch or where they are made, but Porter-Cable tools are made here in the United States (in Tennessee). You might keep that in mind if you, like me, prefer to buy American. Dick

I am a Master Craftsman. Trust me the Bosch is the best you can buy. I have one that was bought in 1954 and is still in use today. Still makes accurate cuts. I wouldn't use another brand even if it was given to me.
