Can anyone tell me the recommended Oxweld cutting tip to use for a particular thickness metal?

Hi Jim,

Use the smallest tip as it easier to cut with wasting the least amount of metal. A #3 will cut upto 1-1/2" thick and is a good all around cutting tip size.

Thanks for the tip. I have been having trouble cutting, the metal will melt, then flow around the cuting flame and resolidify.

Hi Jim, Your using too much preheat and your tip is dirty. The center orifice is really dirty and is the cause of the hot slag falling back into the cut.
