I am leaving on a trip with my travel traler and wanted to bring an extra 5 gallon tank of propane. I didnt want to leave it in the open pickup bed where it could get stolen in rest area / fuel stops etc. I thought I might put it in my cross over tool box, but it will only fit laying down. Is there a problem laying this down for travel? Also I wondered if it might get too hot in the aluminum tool box? Does it need ventilation? appreaciate any info you can give.

Rather than enclosed,I would just get a chain bicycle lock and lock it thru a stake pocket and handle of tank.
