The other guy was correct, that the best glass cleaner is made in Illinois, but the brand was wrong!! The BEST cleaner is made by Superior Products. You can buy it at McKay Auto parts. their phone # is 217-324-3969

Best Glass Cleaner I've used is made right there in Illinois. Called Sparkle, Its Purple and we've used it for streak free glass cleaning for 25 years on Photocopiers.

The other folks gave some advice on cleaning glass. But did you know glass cleaner makes a good carpet cleaner? I didn't believe it til I tried it. Works better than the carpet cleaners!

You really can't do any better than plain old water with some vinegar and ammonia in it. Spray on, then use clean newspaper to wipe off for streak free glass.

I think Dale's chemistry is right. When I was in college I worked as a school janitor summers and washed about 4000 windows each year. Ammonia and water is the best, but clean it off with a squeege and wipe the edge each time with a clean rag.

This is an example of 1 + 1 = 0. Vinegar is 4% acetic acid. Ammonia is a dilute solution of ammonium hydroxide. Either of these by itself can be useful for cleaning. Vinegar dissolves mineral spots; ammonia dissolves greasy contaminants. But as any freshmen chemistry student knows, when you combine vinegar and ammonia in solution the product is water and ammonium acetate. Don't combine them - its a waste of good cleaning material.

I like scrubbing bubbles but it has ammonia in it and not good for plastic glasses (removes the scratch protection) but I use it on them any ways and works grate on glass to spray on and rinse of then dry
