Does anybody have any experience with this brand of tools?

Simple to tell if their heavy duty or not...just take the head apart (usually 4 screws) and see if they have a die cast (white metal gear set in the head). The good ones will have hardened steel gears there. This may rain on someones party cause the Makita sawzall has the cheap gears and I've seen one of them stripped out when the saw snagged as it was cutting. Took a Porter Cable jig saw apart once and was amazed at all the needle bearings and hardened steel slides in there. Quality couldn't be any better than that. L8R....Fred OH

I have three of the 4-1/2" angle grinders and the things out perform the $90 Makita that I have. They will grind a lot more without kicking out ( and the way that I weld there is a lot of grinding to do). The bottom line is that you will be buying an inexpensive tool. So far I have been satisfied with that brand. I have gotten good service from them, but obviously others haven't.

They are the house brand of Harbor Freight tools. Generally low end stuff. They work for the occaisional use, but in the long haul probably won't last. I have a 1/2" drill and a chop saw which I occaisionally use and they work fine. Had a 4 1/2" grinder, shelled it out, got another one, shelled it out and finally bought a Makita which is still going strong. They are short use disposable tools that serve a purpose, but be careful. I have had a 14.4 v drill that has been a trooper-but it is not a DeWalt. Bought the 18Volt set, which for what I use it is fine.

Bottom line-is like most of Harbor Freight's stuff, if you don't buy name brands, pick and choose carefully. If you want something for the long haul stay with a name brand, DeWalt, Makita, Skil, Bosch, etc.

This is my opinion.

I agree with Jerry completely. This stuff will last the occasional user quite a while, but don't expect longevity in daily use. Some Harbor Freight stuff marked "professional" is remarkably durable. I have noticed that a lot of the Chicago Electric is identical to other brands such as Campbell Hausfeld, ie its all made in taiwan/china and cheap little stickers are put on them. A few years back, I would have sworn that the Chicago Electric generators were just private labeled Generacs, but times change.
