Farmall Cub restoration

I have a Cub with a big dent in the top of the gas tank. Does hanyone have a suggestion as to how it can be removed safely?

Harte, If the dent is not in a high radiused area and/or does not contain a crease, apply a block of dry ice in the center of the dent. The extreme cold will cause the metal to shrink and pop back out...this method is frequently used in my area to correct hail damage to automobiles. Use extremely well insulated gloves as this stuff is about -275 degrees. I obtain it from my local cold storage facility. If this seems impractical,drain all the fuel, close your fuel shut-off valve, all but fill the tank with water , insert an air hose, loosely seal the tank opening with wet rags and GENTLY apply air pressure to invert the dent. If the above fails, see the latest EASTWOOD catalog and choose the dent removal stud system that you like. (I am assuming that you are attempting to do the repairs without a) removing the tank, b) drilling holes in tour tank) Best of luck, Eddie Petty
