When I am running it, it makes a humming sound and lots of sparks around the armature & brushes. What can I replace to fix it.? Thank you.

For sure on a good cleaning. As T-Bone sez. Hopefully it is only sluggish brushes due to dust and gooooo....Try to install brushes exactly as they came out.

Hi Bacman,

By a book on Basic electricity.

Then I would give the saw a good cleaning. Be sure and clean out the armature groves between the segments and probably replace the brushes.

Did you check the endplay on the rotor? It might not be coming back far enough to trip the starter switch. ROY(bc)
