Wal-Mart has a model 2450 for $395- 5.5 hp Honda, 2400 psi axial pump. C/H web site says it's rated for frequent use. How does this brand compare with other brands (Generac for example) quality, dependability, etc? I see a lot of C/H equipment and tools at Tractor Supply and other stores- air compressors, generators, etc. Are they more or less dependable than other manufacturers? If they are at the bottom of the food chain then I'll consider some other brand. Thanks for any opinions.

I have a Generac pressure washer that I had to special order from Home Depot to get a Briggs and Stratton engine. All their stuff has Honda motors, and I much prefer Briggs. Anyway, my experience has been generally good with it, with one major exception....the pump. The guy at HD told me that the pump was rated for "frequent duty", but would crap out if used "regularly". I use mine at the shop so I guess I used it "regularly", and it took a dump. I spent $400 on an ANrovi (not misspelled) pump and the thing works better than ever. My advice is this...avoid Campbell-Hausfeld and get a Generac, or, if you can afford it, a Landa. Don't buy anything under 6 horsepower minimum. The pumps pull hard if under full power. Get the engine and features you want and plan on replacing the pump with a Teel or ANrovi. Don't run chemicals other than approved detergent thru the pump, no hot water, and NEVER loan your washer to ANYBODY!! Most of the washers available at places like Home Depot, Lowe's, Tractor Supply, etc. are made as cheap as possible so people will buy them. The pumps have plastic parts that melt and it costs more to fix a junk pump that to replace with a good one. My two cents. All the best and enjoy your washer..... ...Greg

Just bought a Generac with the same rating and price. I like it better than the CH because of the changeable nozzels.
