Hi Darrell, You might want to explain what you mean by weld-to- weld? I like 1/8" 7018 dcrp Chemtron but you can also use 6010, 6011. Depending on what brand truck frame you planning on welding, most newer mfg's have a welding procedure to follow. Most of the spec's are vertical welds with NO connecting horzontial welds. Example: Vertical welds on a 4" long angle iron bracket would be 1-1/2" on the top & bottom web side of the angle with 1-1/2" long weld in center of opposite side. Under no circumstance would you weld the bracket all around as that intraduces stress upon the frame. Fillet leg thickness would be the thicker of the thinest metal. Example: a 1/4" thick truck frame and a 3/8" thick angle iron then the weld leg would be 1/4" or a 3/8" frame with a 1/4" thick angle, the leg would be 1/4" or a 3/8" frame with a 3/8" thick angle, the weld leg would be 3/8" T_Bone
