I have always wondered what the best kinds of powered grease guns there are and am thinking about purchasing one, should I go with electric or pnumatic? And what brands are the best?

Thanks for any comments! Curt

I have a Lincoln cordless electirc gun and it is great. A friend of mine that owns a small construction company (backhoe, dozer, etc) has one and he is pleased as well. It goes anywhere and it gives you a free hand!

Always had the armstrong powered type,,, with lever or sqeeze handle. Used up about six of them. Used the big barrel type doing heavy equipment, runs on air, does a great job,, but expensive,John in Nebr.

Air powered tube guns are handy if you are moving around a lot and not using a lot of grease at a time. Barrel mounted units are good if your doing a lot of equipment or fleet vehicles but not very cost effective for lighter uses.

I have had nothing but problems with newer Lincoln brand products, tube one that did nothing but leak air and not pump, returned six times, all seven were the same way. Barrel mounted one, worked for about 20 minutes before it stopped pumping, 2 ton floor jack that blew a seal the first time it was used...

Bought air powered barrel pump from Alemite, 50:1 ratio and it has been working great going on four years with nothing more than a couple drops of oil in the air fitting once a week. Same with Legacy brand air powered tube gun w/ 40:1 ratio.

Never used electric powered ones so I can't comment on them.
