I have this rider mower and the left side timing pulley on the mowing deck needs some new teeth. It is an "old" MF85 front engine with a 38" deck, an older used pulley I had laying around has CELERON 538332M3 MF embossed on it. It is 4"
in diameter With 41 teeth. From the information I got to-day Snapper used to make a deck with this same setup. About 3 years ago I made up a new deck and was able to get the right hand timing pulley. I went back to the same shop but they can not find anything in the new books. I sure would appreciate any help in locating another one. I live north of Blaine Washington. In British Columbia.

Back in 1972, I had a MM with a two blade, timer deck. It was made for MM by Jackobson (sp). I found parts at a Ford garden tractor outlet. The deck bearings were worn, and the deck bowed some. Would eat a belt every summer. Found bearings at the local auto parts store.
Hope this helps.

Roy, I once had an old Cub Cadet with a timed two blade deck on it. May be another place to look for parts. Good luck.

Hi Al I guess I should explain it a little better.
It could be called a cog sprocket it uses a 1" wide belt it also goes on a splined shaft which turns the blade. They have to be timed or the blades hit.

These pulleys are available through industrial suppliers in a variety of configurations and mounting hole types. If you are unable to locate an MF pulley, you should be able to either buy what you need off the shelf, or one a machine shop can machine or modify as needed. It's quite possible you'll end up getting one with a semi-finished bore, into which your spline shaft size is cut. While I'm sure you'd rather just buy a factory part, the cost for doing what I described isn't too bad. Many of the places that sell these pulleys can have the work done for you. The old part would be used as a reference for finishing or modifying the new part. I hope this helps...Al English
