I'm beginning to feel like no one does this anymore. I am looking for a grinding wheel that fits into a drill chuck and is used for sharpining kife bars. I would even settle for just the stone with the appropriate angle. Can anyone suggest a source?
Thanks.

I would get in touch with a meat plant supplier like Koch or Handover in Kansas City and use a diamond dust or ceramic stick sharpener. I can get some nice edges on my axes mower blades, corn knife, and the kitchen knives. Some hardware stores might carry that or some hunting supply places could too. That will eat less of your blade away but will get a nice edge there. If it is really nicked up, you might want a more coarse stone or take a metal file to it. I like to get mine where I can shave a little hair from my arm with them. Makes grass cutting etc. much quicker.

I have a stone kind of like you describe that was sold for sharpening lawnmower blades. It sure doesn't do the job as easily or well as a bench grinder, but perhaps it would work for your use. Check the lawnmower section of TSC, Lowes, Home Depot, K-Mart, etc.
