I have a 4 hp 20 gal. Coleman compressor manufactured by Sanborn. Model # m109c400-20, serial # R3450173. I'm trying to find the parts that go inside the regulator knob. I think there is a spring and some kind of seal mechanism. Your help would surely be appreciated.

Same parts on mine went bad. Just plastic junk. If you need a regulator- get a metal one.

The Sanborn plant is about 40 miles from here, the tank manufature & assembly would have been in Sanborn, Minnesota.

Unfortunately, the guy I knew who worked there got laid off a couple months ago so lost my connection.

They kinda went downhill (for support & employee relations anyhow...) when Coleman took over about 5 yrs ago, was really an expanding place when it was just Sanborn Mfg.

Marty,
Your Coleman Powermate dealer should be able to order the repair kit if he doesn't have it in stock. I work at a farm store that sells Coleman Powermate, and we stock the repair kit. I'll have to look to be sure, but I think it had a plastic disc, a small spring, and a couple of o-rings in it. Hope this helps

To Frank M.,
If you have one of those kits that fit my compressor or can get one I would be happy to order it from you. Please let me know.

Marty: From past experience I have found it about as cheap to just buy a new regulator. UNLESS you happen to have a very expensive one..They start out about 15 bucks and go up, depending on application. Also with or without guage. Think what parts you are referring to is the diaphram and adj. spring. I always preferred wilkerson or norgen units.
