Hi Chuck,

From what little I've read about your problem, sounds like your working with a boiler? In any event I think were beyond the scope of this forum for such a suggested repair as theres alot to consider for the weld repair, ie heat effects of the repair, has x-rays been taken, repair location on the heat exchanger, working pressure, etc.

Without a assured known cause is why I think an x-ray might have to be done as the problem could extend beyond what your seeing.

I would suggest you contact a local HVAC or Boiler contractor to take alook at it.

You have a gray iron casting of unspecified chemistry Chuck. There are 5 ways to repair this section that come to mind. I can't begin to expound in this context. If you don't get satisfaction in the near future you are welcome to e-mail me. We need to speak by phone so we can both ask questions.
Steve
