I have a set of plans for a small stationary baler that makes a 5"x7"x11" bale. Smaller plans are available. I purchaced them from a man that builds and sells the balers or the plans. E-mail me for more info. I will not sell the plans, but can put you in touch with him.

John..... ...In the Columbia Basin in Washington, they are "double compressing" the standard 2-tie 100# alfalfa hay bale for export to Japan in shipping containers. The're not much larger than 1 cu/ft and "tied" with special high strength plastic ribbon strapping. (stand back when opening the bale, grin)

You know most overseas shipping cost is based on volume?

And because of the competition, I have to pay $160 ton or $9 bale at the feed store in rainy western washington for 2nd cutting alfalfa.

Your mind plays tricks on you when you go to pick up the equavalent of a 400# bale..... ....Dell

You might want to look at Iron Men Album Magazine.
I have seen them for sale in the classifieds there. It's been some time back, but it's a place to start. Gas Engine Magazine might have them too.

Here's a link:

Hi John,

My neighbor researched this a couple years ago. Based on what he found, there is nothing commercially available for making miniature bales. My neighbor did find a guy who has modified a standard bailer to make small bails. However, wanting to protect his market share in the miniature bale field, this person not only refused to make my neighbor a duplicate unit, he wouldn't even let him see it. But according to some that my neighbor talked to, the machine does actually exist. Bottom line, it's most likely going to be a do-it-yourself project. Good luck...Al English
