Just learned something this weekend that I thought I would share with you. If you have a new tire you just put on a rim and you can't get the bead to seal up against the rim just put a couple of squirts of starter fluid inside tire and ignite with one of those long grill lighters. It goes Kaboom and blows both beads tight against rim. Get your airhose on it right away before it pulls away again. I thought it was pretty neat.
Don't go overboard on fluid cause I could see blowing the tire right off the rim if to much is used. Just thought I'd pass this along.

It does work, also blows tires up and starts fires most tire shops use "Cheetahs" to force large volume into tire @ bead instantly seating it.

I usually use a strap or rope around the outside with a tire iron to twist it tight and pull it in. If that doesn't work then it's the ether can. Remember to pull the valve core first.

yes i have done that with engine starting fluid on a stuborn tiller tire. also saw it done on the discovery channel with a overgrown tire on a expedition to the north pole, or maybe the south pole cant quite remember . anyways quite scarry the first time and only takes very little. I would not recomend to do this, the fumes are so explosive

I saw that same story about the truck company showing the durability of their trucks by doing this artic run. They were running big tubeless tires at low pressure and would run them off the bead pretty easy. Their answer was to lay the wheel on the ice, shoot a blast of starting fluid in it,then back off about 6 feet and use the starting fluid can as a flame thrower to ignite the stuff. A bic lighter held a few inches in front of the can and shoot a flaming stream at the tire. Kawhoomp, the bead was seated and tire ready to fill. I have read that you can't blow up a tire by using too much starting fluid. It seems that the amount of oxygen in the tire is the limiting factor, and will only burn enough starting fluid to raise a few psi. I can't prove it but this is what I have read.

Okay normally I don't comment on these things but I have to on this one.yes it will work I have heard it and seen it but the one time I tried it all it did was start my new tire on fire. plus my boot less funny, and finnally the frayed edges on my pants even less funny.I don't know for sure what I did wrong ( wrong either not anew can????? ????? ?????). but right after that went to farm supply and got the biggest portable air tank they hadplus Two 1 1/2"x 8" pipe nipples and one 1/4 turn valve . I then welded one nipple in to tank and smashed the one end of other to 1" across. assemble. fill to about 50 psi. insert into edge of beed hang on. turn valve same result with no friggin fire.

my grandpa did it, my dad did it,I do it too ,just go easy on the ether. I usually spray a line out to the tread to ignite, dont like to be too close. almost all truck stops use that on stubborn ones.

Only once did I "kiss" a warranty hello. A slick tongued ford salesman out talked me and my wife got a three year unlimited mileage warrenty on a new '86 pickup. about one year and sixty eight thousand miles later the top of the transmission shattered and left me with a gearshift I could stir hog slop with. Took it back to the ford dealer and he told me it was not a part of the transmission, so no warranty. Called the ford customer service hotline and they laughed at me, said that I had been scewed, ( may have misspelled that )

If you want to loose a sale real quick, mention "warranty" or "rebate" to me. TR

Texas Red, Had something very similar happen to me. Was told problem wasn't covered by the "extended warranty" I walked into the show room of dealership and at an ELEVATED voice level asked to see the manager of this less than reputable company. Of course they tried to escort me to a room where my complaints were not heard by the buying public but I stood my ground and got the problem brought to an acceptable conclusion at an amazing rate. I still smile at the thought of the looks on the sales peoples faces, but that was nothing compared to the look on the managers face.

That sounds a little risky! Better to take it to a shop where they have the proper equipment.

Tire shops been doing it that way for 50 years around here, I grew up thinking that WAS the way to do it. Don't do it myself, it is a little scary though.
